September Wedding in Wine Country
One of our favourite venues for wedding photography and videography is at Biddle Ranch Vineyards, located in Edna Valley. On the Central Coast, September feels like a beautiful second summer. The air is warm, days are shorter but the evenings are long, and the golden hour lingers just a little bit more.
While September usually brings bright sun, this particular day treated us to a stunning overcast sky. For a photographer and videographer team, this is the ultimate dream! The soft, diffused light acted as a giant natural softbox. This gave us the freedom to shoot absolutely anywhere on the property without worrying about harsh shadows. Even better, it gave the entire vineyard a dreamy, dreamy tropical aesthetic. This made the lush greens and white florals pop in a truly unique way.
When you pair that perfect, flattering light with a classic black-tie aesthetic and the flawless coordination of Vanessa Noel Events, you get a wedding day that feels both timeless and effortlessly modern. We had the absolute honor of capturing all the details, emotions, and dance moves of this spectacular day as the videographers and photographers in San Luis Obispo at Biddle Ranch Vineyard. Furthermore, here is a look behind the lens of this unforgettable celebration.
Getting Ready in Luxury
The wedding day kicked off with two very different, yet equally luxurious, morning vibes.
The bride and her bridesmaids utilized the stunning luxury rental house right on the property at Biddle Ranch Vineyard. The bright, airy interiors provided the perfect backdrop for capturing those intimate getting-ready moments. The bride was a vision of modern romance, wearing a breathtaking gown by Muse by Berta. Her classic bridal beauty was brought to life by Carlie Did It, featuring a flawless, glowing look.
Before putting on her dress, she opened a special wedding day surprise from her groom: a stunning Cartier bracelet that added the perfect touch of classic luxury to her wrist. Her bridesmaids complemented her beautifully in mismatched, chic black dresses of various styles. In addition, their hair and makeup were expertly executed by Kim and Co Salon.
Meanwhile, downtown at the SLO Brew Lofts, the groom and his groomsmen were leaning into a sleek, sophisticated atmosphere. The groom wore a striking white tuxedo jacket paired with a black tie, while his groomsmen donned classic black tuxedos.
A Nostalgic Ride to the Venue
To get the guys from downtown SLO to the vineyard straightaway, they hopped aboard a vintage school bus from Jump on the School Bus. The bus was custom-detailed with the couple’s names and wedding date painted on the side—a playful, nostalgic detail. Of course this made for some of our favorite candid photos and video clips of the morning!
An Intimate First Look & Playful Bridal Party Portraits
Before the guests arrived, the couple met in right outside the house in grove of olive trees for an emotional first look. Tears were shed, tight hugs were exchanged, and we were able to capture some of the most genuinely tender, intimate moments of the entire day. Following this quiet moment together, the energy instantly shifted into high gear when their bridal party joined them. The contrast of the sophisticated black-tie attire against the organic backdrop made for stunning imagery. However, it was the group’s energy that stole the show. We kept things fun, lively, and playful, capturing tons of authentic laughter, unposed interactions, and champagne toasts before the ceremony even began.
A Dreamy and Heartfelt Vineyard Ceremony
Following portraits in the olive trees, the ceremony took place next to the sweeping vineyards, where rows of vines stretched into the golden hills.
The floral design by Adornments Flowers perfectly balanced classic black-tie elegance with a fresh, California twist. The arrangements featured a romantic mix of white garden roses and striking white anemones. They were grounded by organic olive branches and punctuated with playful splashes of yellow and white small blooms.
Guests took their seats facing the backdrop of the Santa Lucia mountain range as the couple traded vows under a floral draped chuppah. Against the soft, muted backdrop of the overcast hills, the florals took on an almost ethereal quality.
As the couple stood before their family and friends, they exchanged vows that were incredibly personal, witty, and heartfelt. Their words were so personable and fun that they effortlessly moved the crowd from tears to laughter. This provided the absolute perfect emotional arc for their wedding film. Capturing their expressions through both photography and video as they made their way down the aisle as newlyweds was pure magic. This ceremony made for a classic Biddle Ranch Vineyards wedding experience.
Al Fresco Dining in the Fig Tree Garden
Following the ceremony, Flora & Fauna Fine Food treated the guests to an upscale experience featuring a custom Oyster and Champagne Bar alongside a series of passed appetizers
As twilight fell, the guests moved to the enchanting Fig Tree Garden for al fresco dining experience. The design team transformed the space into a luxurious dining space using exquisite rentals from All About Events. Every element on the tables spoke to a refined, sophisticated palette. This was beautifully tied together by custom paper goods and signage from Pirouette Paper Company. The market lights and candles created a warm space for the speeches.
Dancing the Night Away
Once the emotional speeches were made and the formal dances wrapped up, it was time to let loose.
The bride made a spectacular outfit change into a fun, short party dress—the ultimate wardrobe swap for hitting the dance floor. The DJ/live band combo brought the energy, and we had a blast capturing the transition from high-end elegance to an absolute, uninhibited celebration.
Capturing this Biddle Ranch Vineyards wedding in both photography and videography allowed us to preserve the true essence of this day: a perfect blend of timeless romance, editorial fashion, and a fantastic dance party.
