When BJ and Jenn contacted us about shooting their wedding at Sugar Bowl, I was head over heels ecstatic! The Sierra Nevadas are basically my home, I spent almost every summer in some part of the range since childhood romping around its majestic peaks, lakes and rivers and beautiful valleys and meadows. To shoot a wedding in a place that is so near and dear to my heart was a dream come true. What can I say, I heart Mountains.
Back in May, Necia and I met BJ and Jenn in Santa Cruz for their engagement shoot, we had such a fun time with them becoming instant friends and knew right then that their wedding was going to be awesome. BJ and Jenn are such a caring couple, they talked about how awesome their friends and family were and how excited they were to spend their wedding day with them. We felt extra special when they included us for their pre-wedding festivities including their rehearsal dinner and bonfire with s’mores. On the drive into the venue the day before the wedding, we were instantly wonderstruck at the beauty of this place. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even gave us a tour of the property so we could scout some locations. What really made the wedding special was BJ and Jenn’s friends and family, they were surrounded by the most wonderful community who love them so much, and during the ceremony there wasn’t a dry eye in sight! The cocktail hour was the most unique one we have ever seen, you had to get to it by riding 2000 feet up a mountain on a ski lift! We were on cloud nine the whole day with all photo locations: in the woods, in an old gondola building, on the ski lift and on top of a mountain!!
To Bj and Jenn, we had such an amazing time with you that weekend, thank you for having Necia and I capture your special day. Oh and Jenn, you were right, BJ does give some of the best hugs. I hope you guys are enjoying your amazing European Honeymoon!!
